If you’re still looking to apply for grants and scholarships, it’s not too late to apply! CUE’s Financial Aid has a few words and suggestions for students as they wait for their funding or if you’re looking for some more scholarships.

On Government Student Loans and Grants

Are you still waiting for your federal funding? There can be several reasons why funding could be delayed. Don’t forget to log into your NSLC.ca account to see if any action is required. 

If you’re continuing your studies and not applying for funding, be sure to confirm your enrollment to keep your previous Canada student loans payment free. Log into your NSLSC.ca account and visit “Confirmation of Enrollment” that’s under “managing your loan.”

On Concordia’s Bursary Program

The CUE Bursary Application is now open! If you are enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program — and did not apply in the fall term — you can submit your application to the winter competition. For more information and to apply, visit Online Services / Applications / Award Applications.

Deadline to apply: February 1

On External Award Opportunities

EXPLORE Program

EXPLORE is an intensive French-immersion program that is offered during the spring and summer. If you are interested in learning or improving French and travelling to a new part of Canada, then Explore might be the perfect program for you. Funding provided by the Government of Canada to successful applicants. The funding covers tuition, food, lodging, and most of the activities. What do you learn? French, of course!

The Mackenzie Scholarships

Are you a 4th year undergraduate student interested in pursuing graduate studies? Look no further than the Mackenzie King Scholarships — these scholarships are available to graduates of Canadian universities. The awards are given to students with high academic achievements, personal qualities, and demonstrated aptitudes. 

· The Mackenzie King Open Scholarship (Value: $13,000 *value subject to change) Open to graduates of any Canadian university who engage in (commence or continue) graduate study (masters or doctoral) in any field, in Canada or elsewhere. One Open Scholarship is awarded each year.

·  The Mackenzie King Travelling Scholarship (Value: Four scholarships of $15,000 *value subject to change) Open to graduates of any Canadian university who engage in (commence or continue) postgraduate study (masters or doctoral) in the United States or the United Kingdom, of international relations or industrial relations (including the international or industrial relations aspects of law, history, politics and economics).

On Awards for Indigenous Students

The Alberta Government understands that students from First Nation, Métis and Inuit communities can face unique challenges in getting a post-secondary education. They work with various community organizations and funding agencies to offer several scholarships and awards to help meet the unique needs of students from the Indigenous community. Students from Indigenous communities could be eligible to receive the following scholarships and awards towards college or university:

 Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards 

 First Nations, Metis and Inuit Bursary
